How to Reach the Students that We Are Not Reaching: A Conversation about Effective and Inclusive Teaching

Many things that we do in the classroom affect how inclusive our courses are. Some teaching practices, for example, may increase the perceived isolation of students, while others may help overcome barriers. In this session, we will have a conversation about issues of students from underrepresented or underserved groups and about ways to improve their situation. The discussion will include things learned from listening to students, from the literature, and from experiences.
