Assessment and Action Taking Opportunities in an Online Science Course

We will explore how aspects of the technology-based course assessments influence teaching practices.  Canvas is being used in courses to create opportunities for students and instructors to communicate and complete assignments.  This is providing ways for science to be depicted in a manner that permits more dynamic and interactive opportunities for student learning and assessment.  Features in Canvas can provide information about student learning; however, it can be challenging to address student needs in this setting.  We will discuss ways to create opportunities in Canvas that improve student learning by using assessment that supports your teaching practices.
